There’s a John Muir Quote:

“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.”

I loved this set of words the first time I’d read it, and it’s stuck with me over the past few months. The common thought of interconnectedness has been a more recent theme I’d been pondering. Taking that further, I have yet to wonder deeper into it, or perhaps around the concepts surrounding it.

When going through rough times, I realize they are over only after I’ve learned a lesson through them, or have had the ability to look back and see that the trouble I’d struggled with, was silly to even acknowlege, and even fret over. Maybe I need to more wisely understand ways of handling my less-than-ideal times. More proudly, I have come to the realization that just because I’ve handled something in the past a certain way, I do not necessarily need to repeat that way of managing challenges in the same manner going forward.

There are so many opportunities to more creatively play with life options, knowing the most ideal way is to flow with the current, as we’ll eventually be led in a certain direction in any case. Perhaps we must first understand where our life current is flowing, and then allow ourselves to flow with it. It’s like walking in snow; we can either walk in the steps pre-set, or create our own in the direction for which we are best led.

Everyone lives in their own mini-verse – contemplating life trouble, worries of the future, and difficulty in navigating through challenging life situations. This goes for those existing in a modern, and relaitvely safe world. I wonder what the best way of removing our own blinders can be, and how to best enable that way of being for others. We need to see broader images. Maybe the use of modern technology can help.

Virtual and augmented reality is the new now, and maybe thats a space that can begin to help people bridge gaps in perspective between the path they can only see, and opportunities for the anything and everything the human mind can see and experience. I wonder where human consciousness will lead us, and whether living in the post-modern world will foster those types of upscaling levels of consciousness more broadly.

I worry for myself, but then realize I may be over-analyzing. There’s only so much I can do in a day; maybe the important part is being ok and also knowing that I am actively trying, or at least trying to try. I’m learning that self-grace is an important thing, and also that everyone else is also just trying to try.
